It might be time for a full service. Sewing machines, like cars, need to be serviced, cleaned, and oiled periodically to keep them running smoothly.

Maintenance Schedule

 

Casual Weekend Sewer...at least once a year*

Daily Use (used daily or 15+ hours a week)...every 6 months*

* More frequent maintenance is suggested if you sew with fleece, Minky, and flannel as these materials tend to shed quite a bit.

 

The type of thread or batting you use also makes a difference.
